5 Simple Ways To Start A Healthy Lifestyle

We all want to live a happy and healthy life. For some it’s something that comes naturally and some of us need to find a simple ways to have a more mindful and healthy life. Sometimes we have a wrong mindset because of the pressure of social media. We tend to think that only ways to change our lifestyle for a better is to join a gym or start a new diet when in fact you can take simple steps toward a better life without feeling the pressure.

DON’T SKIP BREAKFAST
Starting your day right is very important for your overall health. I’m sure that all of you are well aware how important breakfast is but how many of you do actually have it? I know so many people that just skip breakfast completely or have a really unhealthy one. I understand that some people just can’t eat when they wake up or they feel sick if they do but there are some other options. They actually say that you should eat breakfast hour after you woke up. Your breakfast should be very nutritious. This is very important especially if you are a student because having breakfast will improve your concentration on class and while studying.

Breakfast will give you energy to do any exhausting or hard tasks. Your metabolism can’t work properly if you don’t fuel it. Adding proteins to your breakfast will make you full longer and you’ll be able to have a productive morning without constantly snacking something unhealthy. Fruit is a great option for those who can’t eat immediately when they wake up. Find something that is light but will make you feel full. If one of your excuses for not having a breakfast is that you don’t have time for it then the best solution is to make it. You can easily premade your breakfast and take it with you to work or university.

MOVE YOUR BODY
We tend to plan how we’re going to go hiking or bicycling on the weekend and that’s great but what about today? How many of you stretch when you wake up and when you go to sleep? All of this counts as moving and working out. Sitting at your desk for 8 hours because of your job or sitting down studying isn’t good for your body. Although might not have time to actually go for a walk at least try to stretch out a little bit. Making a priority to run or walk for 30 minutes a day will make your whole body feel so much better. Joining a yoga, dance or fitness class is great way to have fun and still move your body.

Working out at home for at least 15 minutes is a great option as well. We live in the world when most of our jobs require us to sit and work on our computers. That is one of the reasons why so many young people suffer from back pain. If you don’t like to work out then try to take any opportunity to get outside. If you don’t have a dog but you know a friend or neighbor who does offer to take them out on a walk. Set one day in the week when you’ll go for a long walk. Make it a date with yourself and explore the city/countryside you live in.

MINDFUL EATING
With the hectic life most of the people are living in today’s world choosing fast over healthy food is just something most people do. With bakeries and fast food restaurants at every corner that’s nothing strange. Adapting a healthy lifestyle in your everyday life through mindful eating is very important. Preparing meals ahead could be the best solution for you. There are a lot of super easy and healthy recipes you can make, freeze and just take out whenever you need. Having at least one meal prepared for every day in the week will save you time but also your health. I know that eating healthy can be quite expensive if you live in the city.

There are few different ways you can start eating healthy without spending too much money. For example you can replace sugar with honey, sweets with fruits, soda with water, chips with nuts, etc. Try to avoid fast food restaurants and cook by yourself. That way you’ll know exactly what you’re eating. There some amazing cookbooks you can find for those who aren’t that good at cooking. I’m definitely not for completely avoiding certain food. I believe that the key is in moderation. You can eat pasta, pizza or chocolate cake but it’s not good to eat it every single day.

LISTEN TO YOUR BODY
It’s not all about healthy eating and working out. Our environment can have a great impact on our mental health. Running around the whole day and stressing about important and not so important things isn’t good for your health. Knowing when it’s time to take a minute and just relax is a sign that you are listening to your body. Most of the health issues nowadays are caused by stress. It’s something we all deal with but the big difference is in the way we do it. Be sure to have at least 30 minutes in a day when you’ll completely focus on yourself, especially on your mind. Check out with yourself; see if there is anything bothering you and how you can fix it. Some days are just harder than the others.

Finding a way that helps you to relax and re-focus is always great. Maybe you find meditating very calming or reading a good book or maybe even going for a long walk. Disconnect with social media and connect with yourself. There is a lot of important and not so important things going on in the online world. Most of the time meaningless information’s are stuck in your head and makes you feel bad without even realizing. We tend to only focus on physical health and not so much on our mental health. What’s happening in your head and how you feel is something you should always keep in mind.

HAVE A GOOD NIGHT SLEEP
Having a good night sleep is something that isn’t that easy for some people. Our daily life can mess up our sleeping pattern and with that the whole day ahead. We need sleep to give our body and mind to charge and to actually reduce stress. There are so many incredible benefits of a good night sleep that I’m sure most of you already know about. If you suffer from insomnia here are few things that might help you. Make yourself a cup f chamomile tea. It’s scientifically proven that chamomile makes your body relaxed and also helps you fall asleep. Be sure to turn off all of your devices at least 30 minutes before you go to bed.

If you don’t feel tired you can grab a book or magazine as reading will make you feel more tired. Lights from any kind of screen will make you feel awake even long after you actually turned it off. Stretch your body before you go to bed. Stretching will help your body to feel comfortable and your muscles will feel more relaxed. You’ll be able to find the right sleeping position and with that you’ll be able to fall asleep faster. Adding just few simple steps into your nighttime routine will improve your sleeping patter and you’ll feel much better in the morning.
